BI 336
Molecular Cell Biology
A lecture-based course covering the molecular basis of cell structure and function,
with an emphasis on Eukaryotes. Topics will include an advanced understanding of
genomic organization, regulation of gene expression and cell signalling. An
understanding of how the flow of genetic information informs the structure,
function and development of membranes, organelles and important processes in
the cell will also be covered. This foundation will allow for broad examination of
genetic diseases, genomics, transcriptomics and other burgeoning areas in
molecular biology.
Prerequisites: BI226; BI236 or co-requisite.
Co-requisites: One of CH354 or CH356.
Exclusions: BI338.
